SCIENTIST FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT in Biotech
Working in a product development environment conducts/plans analytical,
preformulation and stability studies based on product profiles.
* Familiarity with R&D and cGMP scale up studies.
* Conducts literature searches and reviews journal articles for
possible new technology and product invention records.
* Design/perform preformulation experiments necessary for the
development solid dosage forms.
* Proficient in analytical methods development and validation.
* Experience with variety of techniques like wet granulation, direct
compression, pan and fluid bed coating to develop a stable solid dosage
forms (conventional and controlled release).
* Experience in evaluation of solid dosage forms (thickness, hardness,
friability, disintegration, dissolution etc.)
* Experience in formulating small molecules.
* Experience in technology transfer, and/or scale up of solid dosage
forms a plus.
* Experience in development of topical dosage forms (creams, gels,
foams etc.) a plus.
* Participates in cross functional teams, and internal collaboration
with bioanalytical, DMPK, pharmacology groups.
* Writing protocols, reports, test methods and batch records.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Willingness to work in other disciplines as needed
* Some travel to CRO sites may be required
Education and Experience
* Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences, plus two to three years of
related work experience in preformulation/ formulation of solid
pharmaceuticals. * Masters degree in pharmaceutical discipline
(Pharmaceutics / Industrial Pharmacy) plus five to Seven years of
related work experience in preformulation/ formulation of solid
pharmaceuticals or equivalent. * Willingness to work in other
disciplines (analytical, stability, clinical supplies) as needed.
