Research Associate - R&D

Responsible for collaborating with and assisting the scientific staff
with assay development and screening in support of lead optimization
and development efforts in both anti-viral and anti-cancer research
programs. Utilize and develop protocols for a wide range of
bioanalytical techniques, including capillary electrophoresis, gel
electrophoresis, ELISA, western blotting, fluorescent labeling of
proteins, colorimetric/fluorescent biochemical assays, protein
expression/purification and quantitation Method development for and
operation of analytical instrumentation, including capillary
electrophoresis, and 96/384 well plate assays Work and interact with
other members of Research and Development to facilitate ongoing
high-throughput screening projects

Required:

* B.S. degree plus 1-4 years experience or M.S. degree plus 1-3 years
experience

* Previous experience in a broad variety of biological/biochemical
techniques

* Familiarity with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Exc

Desirable:

* Prior experience in capillary electrophoresis, immunoassay, mammalian
cell culture, and other general molecular biology techniques, including
PCR amplification, cloning, protein expression/purification, and
western blotting

* Drug discovery experience is a plus
