Clinical Research Scientist

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Provides scientific input for clinical development plans, investigator
brochures, protocols, and other scientific and regulatory documents.

Writes scientific rationale for clinical trial protocols, including
most recent literature citations.

Liaises with discovery, external experts, external partners to
accumulate scientific and medical knowledge necessary to support
clinical development activities.

Communicates and trains clinical development representatives in new
scientific directions within the therapeutic area.

Acts as scientific expert on the products in the Neurology TA.

Attends scientific meetings to remain abreast of new developments
within the Neurology TA.

Ad hoc member of Project Teams to support production of clinical
development plan and other documents and other activities as
necessary.

Qualifications Education and Languages

Strong scientific background i.e. a Master in sciences (or
equivalent), preferably a PhD or PharmD.

Publications in peer reviewed scientific or medical journals.

Good medical knowledge and experience in Neurology.

Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Professional Skills and Experience

Experience in product & clinical development (at least 6 years in an
industrial or comparable setting).

Teaching capability.

Ability to perform literature searches and to utilize library
services.

Up-to-date knowledge of new developments in Therapeutic Area
(mechanisms of disease and new drugs & competitors).

Up-to-date knowledge of the drug development process.

Up-to-date knowledge of the company, Serono products and the Serono
pipeline (especially in the TA).

Personal Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Presentation skills.

Ability to work in a Matrix Organization environment.

Highly self-motivated and proactive.

Team player.
